So, 10 years ago, I bought a Zorki 4k for about $30 on eBay. It was and still is pristine. But I started shooting in a lot more recently, I realized that the viewfinder, while I'm wearing glasses, is useless. It's far to "telephoto." It looks like I'm looking through a 90mm viewfinder.
So my quest began for another FSU. I decided I wanted a Kiev, just cuz it's different (not that a Zorki isn't different).
It arrived today. I paid about double what I got the Zorki for. It came with a 50mm Jupiter 8M. It's a 1961 4A, early for the type, I'm told. It's a little beat up. The back "leatherette" doesn't match the front. I had to take some shoegoo to it in some loose places (my favorite fix).
The shutter speeds are good. The lens is clear. The viewfinder is clear. Every seems in working order. I can't wait to get some film though it.
