My last eBay-bargain

Both cameras work properly....the filter thread is a bit crooked and the camera has a few scratches, but otherwise: for 151 EUR, I can´t complain :D.

The guy is a very new ebay buyer, who did not sell anything yet......he did not care at all. Both were his father´s cameras......he even wondered, why would anybody pay 151 EUR for such an old piece of crap. "You could have a nice digital camera for that price", he said, smiling :angel: (I know, I know......)

congratulations! the M4 can use some cleaning, but it's a wonderful price. I wish I would come across such auction.

Thank you all for your kind replies. I am very happy, because I thought I´ll have to wait like another year till I can get my first Leica.

I am still a student (in my last semester) and had to quit my IT-job because of time troubles so no chance I could afford a Leica for 1000 EUR now. So, you can imagine, how happy I am :)

The lens is quite shabby, but the glass is clean - body looks fine (used, but not worn down).

Funny thing - today is my birthday (27), this must be my gift from heaven (birthday-Leica) :)

Btw., how good is the lens (35mm f2.8, according to SN it´s from the 50s). I assume, it´s ok, am I right ? Flare will probably be a problem, as with all single coated lenses......
 
That was a great deal on the Ikoflex. I see that it has the Tessar lens. It should give you great results. You might need to get the shutter serviced.
 
Thank You. This is actually my dream set. I always wanted one small Leica and one TLR, both for streetshots.

The shutter looks fine, although slow speeds are sticky......cleaning the shutter with lighter-fuel plus applying 3-4 drops of watch oil should solve the problem, what do you think ?

Congratulations!

The lens is very good for sure... Don't worry too much about flare: unless you have strong light aimed to your lens, things will be fine...

Being a mechanical Leica, you should take it to an expert soon, and it'll be working just like new for many years...

Ebay can be a slime pit. But if one is patient and careful, there are indeed great bargains that show up from time to time.

Happy birthday and congrats on two good bargains.
