I've had the camera for about three months, and I am having a wonderful time with it. It does have a learning curve all its own: everything really is mechanical, of course, and if I don't follow the steps---no picture! The one item I really need to watch out for is to reset the focusing spar to infinity every time, or I will get some odd results. Also, loading it takes some getting used to. No complaint, just observations about using a camera that is almost as old as I am.
But it really is a tremendous amount of fun! It's all shiny metal, with lots of knobs and dials and a sharkskin(?) cover, (or something that feels sort of like sharkskin should feel like.) And after using my Nikon N80, this is a tiny little camera by comparison. Surprisingly heavy, though for something so small. And of course I have to slow down and think, and do the get-ready meditation for each shot, so far. But I'm getting a little more practiced with it. I'll try to post some pics later on. BTW, it has the Summitar 5cm f/2 collapsible lens with it.

Exactly what you have posted is the reason why I pick up my film cameras (leica included) to go shoot and take with me everyday, rather than my D300; even with 80's Nikkor glass.

A IIIc and a Summitar (or an Elmar, or a CV 50/2.5)... all you need in a carry-everywhere camera.

I'd only add that it takes fantastic, distinctive images. I've had my IIIf about the same time you have and really enjoying it, too. It forces you to THINK!
A cousin who is now and all digital pro snatched it out of my hands this weekend while visiting and shot 2 rolls before I could open my mouth. "I miss this so much. It's so much fun!"

xxloverxx: I reset the focusing spar as a reminder to me that I need to pay attention to what I'm going to shoot next. On the past couple of rolls I discovered that I'd photographed something near, then on the next frame, shot something farther way. Of course, with no work on my part, the lens stayed focused for near, and the far shot came out nicely blurred...

By "focusing spar", I believe the OP is referring to a tabbed lens.
