what a lovely bunch of gear...
on loan to me from a very generous rff member...
a nikon sp along with a 50/1.4 and a 105/2.5 lens kit.
i have film at the ready and will be playing with it all starting tomorrow.
the loan was offered to help me break out of my photo funk...
i am currently toying with the idea of getting a simple nikon kit of my own, maybe an sp with either a 35 or a 50...something complete seperate from the m world.
or sticking with my current m mount gear and adding a user m2...shooting it with my favourite 40 sonnar.
or breaking out completely and getting an older dslr with one zoom lens, like an 80-200!

Oh, man...that is super! Ever since I had to sell the S3 2000, I have been wanting to try the SP.
Nikon SP is n-i-c-e. I remember when you had the S2. The SP is closer to an M3 in handling while shooting, closer to the S2 when loading.
The 105/2.5 is an amazing lens.
Nikon SP with 13.5cm3.5, wide-open-
Nina with the S3 with 35/2.5.

If that won't cure the funk, then you need a vacation somewhere far from home. Wow. Enjoy that gear.

Nothing a camera paradigm shift to get the juices flowing. Good luck,
Keith
The best camera is one that still works!
Have fun Joe ... it'll be a good break from digital and a chance to revisit your past.

How about medium format? Such different mindset to digital or 35mm.

Darkroom printing lives
Similarly, when I'm in a funk while coding an application, discovering a new text editor and trying it out can boost my productivity.

I love the idea of the SP!
But, is getting out of the dark funk gear-related or not? I suppose it is something else. Whatever it is, you better get it taken care of before winter sets in...

That was nice of the loaner.
What happened to the S2 kit I sold you a few years ago?

so, today i went out with the sp and the x100 as back up.
amazingly, i remembered how to load the film...remembered to check the rewind lever to make sure my film was travelling correctly through the sp body.
my sunny 16 was rusty but i'm shooting xp2 so that should help me out.
shot half the roll and it feels very strange not to have anything to look at now that i'm at home.

In this interval of time, between shooting the frames and seeing the results, one comes closer to god. Film is good for the soul.

you sure are a believer!
I might have a roll of Polachrome somewhere...
Picked up 16 rolls of 200 color film today, under $1 a roll.
I'm thinking Collapsible Sonnar on the SP.

My M5s need red dots!
My own Nikon RF kit is in Wisconsin right now, getting the RF lined up. I miss that camera... But I'm glad you have an SP, joe... and thoroughly LIKE THIS with envy...
