My M2 Arrived...

Hi,

My new (1960) M2 arrived 2 days ago. I also managed to find a mint condition Summicron 50/2, chrome, 1968 in my local camera store.
The combination feels wonderful. The camera is silky smooth, solid and operates with clinical precision.

The lens performance is simply staggering. The resolution, contrast and tonal detail are beyond anything I have seen in the 35mm format. I'm delighted!
I've only put one roll of BW400CN through the camera but I'm delighted with the results, even tho they have neen processed cheaply in my local store. (see attachment).

This is like rediscovering photography.

Yes, congratulations Ernst. The M2 is a magnificent camera.

My two most-used lenses on the M2 are a 35 Summaron 2.8, which I'm sure you'll love especially in B&W, and a 5cm Summitar, which I hope to someday complement, not replace, with a 50 Summicron.
