Got my M2 CLA'd by Will van Manen in the Netherlands.

Camera is much smoother now
Shutter seam is no longer visible when shutter is cocked
1/1000/th does not hang up anymore
The frameline for 35mm is now correctly shown with the VC 35mm I have on it (with screw to M adapter)

Time to go out and burn some rolls...

He charged me 165 euros without VAT. With VAT that equates to slightly less than 200 euros. Not cheap, but not outrageous either.

His workshop is in his own home, and he has plenty of stuff luying around, Hasselblads, Nikon RF's, some unidentified folders and he works on all of them. I left a Nikon EM behind today (hopefully salvageble) and a Nikon F mount lens with sticky aperture blades. It's fun talking to him, he knows an awful lot about cameras. He seemed impressed that I figured out what was 'wrong' with the D.R.P engraving on the post war IIIf he was working on 😉

I have not shot with the Leica yet though, but in a few days I'll know if he did a decent job. I daresay he did, based on the recommendations and the obvious things I listed already.

Will is great! He cla'd several bodies (M2, M3, M4, Nikon S2) and lenses (50 lux, 50 DR) for me, all superb work! He's still working on a Contax III + Sonnar.
