I just bought a Jupiter 3 in Kiev/Contax mount for my M8 on EBay. Why? I love the bokeh of the J3 and color as well as the reasonable price. I chose Contax mount in that I wanted to open up possibilities for other lenses made by Zeiss, etc for their classic look to complement my Leica glass. I will only now need to get the Contax to Leica adapter.
I think it is also cool to have another way to mount lenses. I must admit, the Contax mount looks beautiful on a camera with it's engraved distance scale, etc... I like the look in response to the stale boring state of the art stuff we see on DSLR's etc,,, . I also am an equipment junkie and have 50mm lens addictions (I have a 50mm Noctilux, Summicron, Summitar, Jupiter 8, Industar 61LD, Helios 103, and now the Jupiter 3)!
One thing I really love about all these lenses. They each have a different look to them. It is nice to have variations of one focal length like artists have different types of brushes. Many of these classic lenses are hidden jewels whose true performance is being brought out by cameras like the M8 and M9. May I dare to say that these lenses in the future may go up in value as digital cameras mature fully. Lenses will be all the rage, and high quality mechanical masterpieces from ages past will hold and increase in value. What I love about the Russian stuff is how surprisingly great quality lenses they can be if you get a nice one at decent prices. What knocked me out are the photos they take! The portraits with the Jupiter 3 are mind-blowing! Women who want portraits will love the look the J3 gives!!! Some of the wedding shots with the J3 that I have seen are incredible!

I'll post some when the lens arrives from Russia. I bought it on EBay 4 days ago, I have it , but not in possession yet. I do however have some Jupiter 8 pics which I will post later today.

I ordered the Contax Leica Adapter from Adorama for $222. That was the best price I could find.
I could have bought the Jupiter 3 in m39 mount, but I noticed better prices on Jupiter 3 lenses in Contax mount in better condition. The second reason for my choice for the Contax mount is to open the door to many more lenses other than Leica made by Nikon, Zeiss and others. Also, I have to admit the Contax mount lenses have very nice solid metal mounts as well.
So here, I have opened the door to much more capability to my M8. I have become more aware of just how good these lower contrast older lenses are with digital. In many cases, they are superior in getting the best range in tone. Adding contrast can then be done in Photoshop.
Honestly, I believe the industry has gotten carried away with color saturation and contrast resulting in problems with dynamic range and files that cannot be worked with as much as files created by lower contrast lenses.
