Spoke with Leitz yesterday and received good and bad news. Shutter jam just needed an adjustment, but my camera is now waiting for a sensor replacement. These are backordered and may take up to 3 weeks to arrive. I had Leitz check out the sensor as I noticed every 100 exposures or so, a file would turn up with a horizontal line through it. Never in the same place. I'm glad my M9 was still under warranty, which ends this November 23! At least these new parts , I hope, will hold up longer then the originals and they extend my warranty by another year.

Keith,
I kinda see it as good news, good news and more good news.
The shutter only needing an adjustment is positive; getting a new sensor is not really bad, especially since you got another full year warentee.
I guess the only thing that's painful is the waiting.

As Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part. He must have been a Leica user with his gear in the shop.
