My MP bashed me over the head in car accident

In any case, the MP seems fine but how do I know if the RF is off now? Do I wait until I process a roll and if the focus is off then its messed up? Or is it something I can see when focusing. It appears to focus fine, but I have yet to process the roll that was in the cam.

For horizontal alignment: Focus the lens on infinity, point it at clouds, check the RF patch to see if they're aligned. If yes, you should be good; if no, you need to calibrate it.
Vertical alignment: This should hopefully be obvious to see.

Hope the pain goes away. Sorry to hear about the whole incident.

Steve, I'm very glad to hear you're in one piece. I'll take your advice -- Lately I've hung a camera around my neck occasionally while driving, and I think it's just going to go in the glove box.

Suggestion re: a far less important matter that may be a pain down the line -- Keep a copy of the police report, and be sure to check up on how the insurance database that insurers rely upon (I'm sorry, I don't remember its name) has recorded the matter of fault in the accident. I had a very unlucky time a while ago in which four people drove into me in twelve months. No injuries, just slow-speed city crunches, though one car was totaled (in slow-motion) by a truck. Insurance company recorded all as 0% my fault and my rates were untouched, but when renewal time came, they ignored their own records and relied on the outside database -- which had recorded all four incidents as 100% my fault! I'm not even sure there's a mandated method to challenge this misinformation, as there is for credit reports, but I'd hope your insurance company would be of help if this sort of mix-up occurs.

More importantly, best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Yes, clearly. Had Leica made this camera like an instamatic surrounded by sponge this could never have happened. Alternatively, Leica could clearly state in their instructions that this camera should not be carried whilst in vehicles due to the risk of high velocity wounds. Maybe a training course should be required before owning one?
