Hi. My name is CVBLZ4. And Frank has a problem.

But golly gee fishhooks, I'm not going to let him suffer alone! I'm pledging to be here my 3 or 4 times a day (and my 2 or 3 at night) to make sure ol' Frank stays in the RFF gutter and avoids the professional help he really needs.

I'm here for ya man! If you ever feel yourself wanting to log out and join those ingrates who have left their monitors and made a real life for themselves fraternizin' with human-types they can actually see, just PM me and I'll talk you out of it -- get you settled back in to being the wimpering-snivleing-red-eyed-shell-of-an-RFFer we've all become!

In the Antipodes, some of us are adjusting our sleep patterns so that we post to live Rffers!....

In 2 months I'll be a Dad for the first time , so RFF is fact getting me in training for staying up all night!

It 'll go something like this ...change nappy....read/post RFF...change nappy....read/post RFF...

and of course, I'll need to seek an opinion on the best RF for a zero year old.... !

Here, here!

Congratulations on becoming a new Dad. I assume you mean a camera for you to use, most of the RFF kids wait until age 1 before they want their own camera. The Canonet QL17 GIII has a fast F1.7 lens, and focusses closer than most fixed-lens RF's. You want something without a flash, and something that lets you get closer than the typical 3ft. You also want auto-parallax correction for the close-in work. You will have a lot of new expenses, so the time for an expensive camera is for later.

Thanks Brian for your considered thoughts - I think you've promoted the benefits of the Canonet very well, as well as pointing out that the only person in our household with GAS for a while should be our pending baby...
