My neighborhood....lets see yours

Alexandria could be any little town in central Michigan in the 50’s, when I was young. If these are recent pictures the place is pretty much an anachronism.

Flora, Indiana established in October 1827, founded and named Flora in 1875, is a declining town with 2025 population of 2,099.
On the main street in the center of town is the 1902 E.Z. Kitzmiller Building

Back in 2012 Union City, Indiana was a rather typical small Midwest location. Declining population, run down vacant buildings and store front churches. Just another location trying to survive hard times.

At the intersection of the two main streets

one of several store front churches.

On a Sunday November 2025 recent visit this location is refreshed and now is the home of NOVEDADES Zury V LLC offering

IDEL COMPO A TU MESA / FROM THE FIELD TO YOUR TABLE

Union City, Indiana.
and
TODO PARA EL HOGAR / Everything For Your Home

Another indication of the evolving diverse Midwest population.

This is the flood control channel behind the strip mall where Harbor Freights Tools is at, in NE ABQ. I’d seen this homeless encampment before but I finally caught one of its denizens sorting through stuff.

There are about 3000 homeless here, as per the city government. I think the numbers are higher.
