My neighborhood....lets see yours

Charlottesville, Indiana is an unincorporated community mostly in Hancock County with a small portion to the south in the more rural Rush County.

From a visit in 2010, the post office is

Charlottesville, Indiana.

located on the right. and fronts on the West bound US 40 highway.

Now, Charlottesville, 2025 population of 472, continues to not be a town as there’s no mayor, no elected officials, but just a village platted out in 1830 that stopped being a town in 1867. With a median age of 60, average household income $66,163 and a poverty rate of 0% this is a very unusual Midwest location.

Returning this past year to discover a bit of clean-up.

Beautiful but I don't know if my system could handle that much fresh air.
This was taken right after the recent storm, sadly the air quality up here isn't as good as it was years ago. We are at about 2000 feet east of Sacramento and used to look down on the pollution in the valley, now we look up to see it.

In 1872 the Starr Piano Company began as the Trayser Piano Company, reorganized in 1878 as the Chase Piano Company and in 1893 became the Starr Piano Company.

By the 1920s, it was manufacturing not only pianos but phonographs and producing records.

The Gennett Records Division of Starr Piano produced the earliest recorded artists such as Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Hoagy Carmichael, and Bix Beiderbecke.

Major winter local storm forecasted for the upcoming weekend. Time to recall a wonderful pleasant, bright sunny and clear day in a very special place.

The Field of Dreams.

Dyersville, Iowa.

Looking back to when America's game was not football but was baseball. A time when players came out of the corn and joined together, to play a game that they loved.
A much simpler time in which the country, as with baseball, moved at slower respective pace instead of the violet intermediate action of today's football.
