Went to a camera swap meet on the weekend and picked this up:

Didn't know anything about it at the time. (I actually went there looking for a little Minolta Himatic F or G). The guy I bought it off couldn't tell me if the meter worked or anything. It didn't have batteries so not even the film advance would work so I took a chance on it as I just loved the compact looks and feel.

Anyway I put a roll of TMax through it yesterday and I'm absolutely stoked that it all seems to work perfectly. I shot in various light; bright sun, open shade, backlit indoors etc and it seems to adapt quite well.

Here's a couple of shots:

I was particularly impressed the way it handled this shot. The sun was directly behind the chimney and its managed to give perfect shadow detail:

So now I'm planning a cleanup, replacing the light seals, and I'll attempt to replace the peeling leatherette. Think it should look quite handsome in a nice dark navy blue?

Well I received my navy blue leatherette so I proceeded to strip the old stuff. You gotta love it when someone's used 2 part epoxy to stick down the lifting leatherette. Nearly had to break out the Dremel to remove the old gunk!

Made templates from the old stuff, first on pieces of paper to fine tune the fit and then went for it. Think I did ok for my first attempt at recovering a camera but I might redo the back door as I think it looks a bit rough.

All up I'm pretty happy with the way it looks in blue.
