In 1975, a commemorative run of 1,750 M4 cameras were made with a 50 Jahre (50 year) logo to commemorate 50 years of Leica production.

Each group of 350 cameras were engraved with the number <1-350> and one of the letters "L", "E", "I", "C" or "A", totaling a sum of 1,750 cameras.

Some were assembled in Midland, and thus engraved "ERNST LEITZ CANADA LTD. MIDLAND CANADA"

".....A special batch of 1750 Leica M4s were issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the first production Leica. These were made in Wetzlar, except for 350 which were made in Canada...." See Laney, p.112.

I am the fortunate new owner of unit 140-I.

Very very happy way to lead into my abstinence from gear purchases.

Yes, this is why I'm going on this 1 year fast.
Previously, I would find a matching M5, SL2 and CL.

No more.

Unless I see lenses come up.

Did they make lenses?

I know only of the 1913-1983 lenses (I have two).

What if he runs into another camera from this set?
