My new "Benz" under the camera straps
Check out my blog:

Yes, it is true that I prefer to use the wide Eddycam comfortable strap on my heavy DSLRs. It is soft, supple, slightly elastic and just a mega-feel-good factor.
Also, I have some time on my Leica M's a narrower Eddycam worn with the same characteristics. And also because the well-being immediately set while wearing. But sometimes it was just me still too wide. And if I wanted then wrap the strap around the hand, it was already a lot of pleasant elk leather, I was wearing on the wrist.
Just for my Leica M, I always dreamed of a simple small yet sturdy leather strap, like in vintage style to match the styling of the Leica.
It should be soft, yet stable and high quality, in any case, non-slip, even on slippery suit material;-). Luigi straps are nice, but always made me feel a bit too thin and "fluffy", sorry Luigi ;-)
Then I´ve seen a website of a German who had emigrated years ago to Toronto / Canada.
HARRY BENZ: A photographer and art director began to produce handmade camera straps. I looked at the various straps, and one of them decided to order. Fits to me and my Equipement I ordered in January the "vintage dark brown" camera B-strap with a length of 120cm / 13mm wide and 4mm thick water-buffalo leather.
And what was then a few weeks later in the post, accompanied me to this day, and often makes me internally day grin. An incredibly strong-feeling is very valuable leather strap, which nevertheless can be soft wrap around the wrist. Neither of the two eyelets shall in no situation to the camera body, so that scrapes or damage is excluded through eye. With 120cm length I can carry him across the shoulder and the camera is in a pleasant height on my stomach on. And if you wear the strap over your shoulder normally, it does not slip through special processing of leather from the ever so smooth material of suits or shirts, shirts etc from the shoulder down. Cause it´s waterbuffalo leather, and not the slippery cow leather as on the most used straps. The leather is exclusively for Harry Benz straps is Water-Buffalo. It is far superior in quality to cowhide and therefore more expensive. It is stronger, tear-resistant, yet flexible and smooth. It has classic good looks and will burnish handsomely with age. Unlike cow leather Water-Buffalo does not stretch at all. Furthermore, it does not have a fleshy underside; which in fact is the very reason why cow leather straps become in a short period of time so darn slippery! – In contrast the straps won’t get slippery. Ever.
I love this belt on my M, he sees fit classy and vintage moderately from is handmade from the finest buffalo leather, soft and yet very trustworthy firm, and does not slip while wearing.
Harry Benz has over 12 different belts and designs on his website, each a different color, and length, but you have to expend a bit of a wait for Handcrafted, 4-8 weeks in production excl. Shipping. But every day the one waiting is rewarded: You get a wonderful unique to camera strap as it is today hardly produced.
Meanwhile, I still flirting with a second strap, the strap Extended Version B in russet brown.

Sorry for my bad english!
