Hi, I picked up a rather good condition Paxette from the carboot sale this weekend.

It's rather a good looker. I will post some photos when I have them developed.

It came with a Casserit 50mm f2.8 lens. What's the sharpness like of this lens? Also, can anyone recommend a good 35mm lens for it?

I've attached a pic taken with my Pentax K10D and Cosina 28mm f2.8 manual lens.

Nice little camera!

Is the lens-mount bayonet or screw-mount ?

Looks like the lens on the camera is a Steinheil, so it's one of the better lenses Braun offered...

Not familiar with these later Super-Paxettes - mine is an S-P II - but there were Schneider lenses for the Braun 39mm screw-mount... Steinheil are decent;next to those would be Roeschlein-Kreuznach.

Try to avoid Staeble lenses - the several that I have for my S-P II are just frightening in terms of quality ( lots of seeds and bubbles in the glass, mis-shapen aperture opening ( a-symmetric when stopped down ) ).

Share some pics from it, when you have them !

Yes, it's a screw-mount Steinheil Casserit 50mm f/2.8. I'd really like a wide angle lens to go with it now. It all seems to work perfectly, even the lightmeter is mostly in the right ballpark! I could really get into the whole rangefinder thing. Save my pennies for a M9 I guess...

This one has been sharpened considerably in PP.

Not bad, not bad at all....

The standard WA for the Paxette was a 38mm ( now there's a focal-length you don't see every day...)

I think the 38 mm I have is a Staeble :(.

I have to dig mine out and run a roll of film through it...

They are just about the cutest little interchangeable lens camera there is...
