Hi guys, I purchased a used Contax Tvs, with leather ever-ready case and data-back, and I'd like to tell you how much I like that camera: it's small, elegant, sturdy, well made... Focusing is fast, and the lens is really sharp and with almost no distortions. It's nice to use the manual focusing ring and the manual zoom, and the shutter release is so smooth ... Just made some test photos, and the Sonnar magic is there.
How many people are there, here, shooting with this little jewel?

Ciao
Franco

I've looked into this camera. I like the idea of the manual focus and zoom. I have the 'T' and have always enjoyed using it. I have the T2 and enjoy it less (bad fleabay sample, funky AF). I'd love to own the T3. Interested in your results and impressions. IIRC, the lens is on the slow-ish side (??). Let's see some photos.

these were slides (Fuji Sensia 100 iso): I think slides are the best way to judge a lens and a camera.
The camera is a joy to use, and the lens is really a beautiful glass: I'm still learning to use it, but I think we can became good friends. It's difficult to distinguish the results of this camera from those of a good reflex, and this is what I ask to it.

Maddai...ti trovo anche qua... :D
Belle Frà...solo mi sembrano un po' "soft"...non credo però sia colpa della TVS ;)
Complimenti per l'acquisto!

Lovely pix. I briefly had a Contax TVS II, loved it, then it died. Just replaced it with a Contax TVS. There's something special about this camera. I've been on a tear lately, trying different P&S, but I think this one i my favourite.

BTW-how is the leather half-case? For some reason I have more of a compulsion to dress up this camera than my others, LOL.

Wow...I'm not alone here!

This camera has gotten lots of "snap time" since I got it from FrankS last Spring. Possibly the best compact 35 I've ever owned.

It's an ever ready case, with the top half detachable: it's made of real leather, very soft. Now here it's winter, so i can keep the top half in a pocket and use the bottom half as an half case, covering all the camera when I stop to shoot and put it in the pocket. On sunday I think you shold change the word "pocket" with "belt bag" or "backpack"

Really? Do you think these photos are "soft"? Wat do you mean exactly, not enough sharp, or too soft colours? I did my best to have a good result from scanning the slides, and I like the results

I mean they lack (a little bit) of sharpness, the colour rendition is fine...
By the way,if you are satisfied about the result then everything is OK.
(I don't need to be...that are YOUR images)

Not at mine.
But it's a useless debate. (And it really doesn't matter...)
Hi Lorenzo and Frank ,
nice to meet you here...
Me too I found that sharpness it's at least normal compared with P&S standards. Colors ar natural and image maybe is not "crispy" but of a good quality. Probably if we compare the images to a recent AF lens could be slightly different, but not that much anyway.
Useless debate ? :) Most probably yes, but it's also funny losing time this way :) speaking about dreams and pasions with some friends...

So dear Franco, next step is the G2 ? :)
