It all started about a month ago when I picked up a Zorki 1e. Then I started to get more and more interested in the LTMs. Well, you guys know what I mean.

I'm just loving my new Leica IIIf RD! :D

Congrats on the IIIf RD, I just got mine in the mail yesterday. It is a beautiful piece of engineering, enjoy!

I've had exactly the same combination as Marke (IIIf RD and Summitar 50/2) for just a short time. But already I've been able to get some fine results from it. Here's a street mime in London's Covent Garden, off duty having a beer, with some admiring kids.

I just purchased a Canon Serenar 50/1.8 (chrome) lens for my IIIF RD. I was thinking about the Summarit but decided to go for the Canon as it was $125 cheaper, and just as good I have heard.

The Serenar 50/1.8 is an eminently satisfactory lens. Used one for 17 years. Never without its hood, though.

Feel free to try the Summitar on the Zorki - like I did last summer in France - and get the same nice results, i.e. pictures with a 1930-40 atmosphere. Until now I have never used it for color though..

Great shot!

Wonderful image, Carl.

My Zorki was sent to his room because he was a bad Zorki. The metal trim ring on the RF window sratched my eyeglasses. The plastic trim on the IIIf keeps my eyeglasses from getting scratched. I'll proably still keep the Zorki, but use it rarely,or at least until I cover that area with something protective. I might use the Industar-22 lens on the Leica though, when I want to make the camera more pocketable.

Congrats to all. An Exc IIIf RD, bought from an RFF'er, will be hand-carried to me from Michigan in just a few weeks. I've got a variety of lenses out on it ;-)
Cheers,

Ron, it's clear that you are the Zorki-man! Ummm..."Captain Zorki"? ;)

But I must ask why would I want to put the Summitar on my Zorki when I have the Leica?

Thanks.
