I just got my new R3A, can't wait for tmr but try to take some shots. Overall control is not so satisfied as I expected perhaps it is the first time I use it.
First time comments:
- shutter dial position not good for switching;
- the blinking led inside the viewfinder does bad job;
- viewfinder is bright;
- very light weight;
- shutter sound a bit louder than expected;
- focusing is easy;
anyway, I will use it for the coming few months and find out its pros and cons to me.
Any comment on the shutter dial and blinking led ?

Lucky you. Mine much anticipated R3A - my first combined RF/VF camera - arrived in country yesterday and decided to get immediately back into a container and return to Mr Gandy for bizarre postal reasons. It will be at least a fortnight before it gets back near here again.

Sorry to hear that Colman.
I just got my R3a and Nokton 40mm 2 nights ago.
I metering readout is insanely cool to me, but the 40mm framelines are hard to read if you're wearing spectacles.
Im gonna load it up with some Kodak Gold just to see what it can do.

Sorry to hear that too, Colman.
Agree with Merelyok that the 40mm framelines are not easy to read.
BTW, I use only M39 LTM lens with adaptor at this moment.

And now the tracking and the guy on the phone tell me it's out for delivery here - after the lady earlier told me it was in a container, probably because there was no address. So now I have absolutely no idea what's going on! Maybe it'll be here in an hour, maybe it'll be a couple of weeks. Who knows?!

Turns out it was hours!
First impressions (coming from Bessa -T and -L and taking into account that my favourite SLR is a Nikon EM despite having owned an F100 and owning a D200!):
* Metal! Black metal!
* Integrated VF/RF is a good idea.
* Light.
* LED's in VF are fine, need to learn to be careful with my eye position though.
* Hexanon 50/2 looks good on it.
* Aperture priority! AE lock! Hotshoe! It's as if I'm in the 21st century.
* Shutter speed dial is awkward - hope you're right about it wearing in Keith.
Now to load some C41 B&W and break it in.

congratulation man, enjoy it.
BTW, what is the finish of your R3A?
I got mine in matt black (very disappointed) but not painted black as shown on web. Who know how to change the top and bottom plates?

Thats interesting because the same thing happened with my order (Europe too).

I track incoming and am aware of what service I paid for; usually 24 hours.
All too often a package goes from London, to Frankfurt, to Lisbon (near me) same day and then somewhere bizarre such as Athens or Cairo before returning to Lisbon three days later.
I send the company the tracking number and always get a full refund from somebody equally as baffled as myself as to why it wasn't delivered correctly first time.
