Hi,

Just created my wordpress based website for my street photography.
The media plugin works quite well and lets you create galleries based upon certain tags and/or categories you define.

I'm a beginner, but feel free to check my X-Pro1 street photos out here !

With Well Wishes,

Rob

Rob, it's hard to believe you are a beginner, your photos are simply great.. Reminded me of Bruce Gilden "close plan" shots, which are very difficult I know. What amazed me more how do you accomplish it with the sloppy AF of the X-P1?? I'm speechless!

Congratulations for such a start.. I will come back time to time to see your new pictures. :) (Never change your style.. you have started it from a very tricky but promising point..)

Hey Bob,

Many thanks for your kind words. To compare me to Bruce Is a very big compliment indeed. I love that guy's style -- he's just amazing.

I really am a beginner. I've never really had the chance to go out shooting. I spend more time on the forums than I do in the street. I must change that.

I've yet to really develop a style, but I felt instantly that I love street photography, so in general I will stick with that and devlop what I do.

I'm still learning my way around the XP1, and may start doing more with Zone Focussing. Last saturday I was out practicing with the camera at my hip, pointing slightly upwards, and mainly captured tops of buildings rather than people :p

It's true when the XP1 AF works -- it really WORKS. However, it's far less forgiving than my M43 gear, which does tend to AF better. Having said that, I'm sticking with the XP1. When the shots are in focus, they're simply amazing.

Thanks again for your kind comments, and see you around on the forums :D

With Well Wishes,

Rob

Thanks everyone for you kind comments.
I'll go out tonight and see if there's anything interesting going on.
Apparently it's a music day today, so plenty should be going on !

if I might be so bold, I think there is more to street photography then taking pictures of random people. I know Bruce and he takes 1000s of frames to get the special ones he's known for.

IMHO, something has be be happening, a mini story, something funny, ironic, tragic, weird, dramatic, whatever, for a street photo to work. Otherwise it's just one unfamiliar face after another and there is nothing to relate to.

to toot my own horn see www.fair-witness.info. look at Elliott Erwitt, Richard Kalvar.
