Just picked it up from ebay on a whim... Hope to get it sometime next week... Zorki 5 Type II w/ Industar 26m 5cm/2.8. We'll see how it works (or if it works 🙁)

The Zorki 5 is a nice camera, it's likely to be a 1959 (serial number starting with 59). The original lens was an Industar 50 (rigid or collapsible) or Jupiter 8, so you don't have the original lens there. The Industar 26 is a sharp lens though.
The one thing these have a reputation for is a rough winder action, usually due to poor gear adjustment and dried grease. If you're a tinkerer it's pretty easy to cure though. Mine needed it an now runs beautifully with a quiet zzzip sound of the ratchet.
Simple, reliable camera. One word of warning: DO NOT wind or trip the shutter with the lens removed! You will VERY likely damage the mechanism if you do. Either mount a lens or hold the RF sensor inwards when you wind or release the shutter. ALso, don't forget it's a bottom-load so it needs the leica-style leader cutting on the films...

the lens is wonderful from f5.6-11, not so great below f5.6 IMO (outdoors you won't have shutter speed to shoot below what it great though). Have fun!

In my reading, I did note that the 26m isn't the original lens, but I figured it should be sufficient for f5.6 or f8 which is where I plan to use this rig.
I had also picked up an Industar 53mm 61 L/D to see what the fuss was all about. I also can't shake the feeling that I ABSOLUTELY NEED a new 50mm Sonnar.
Obviously, I've been afflicted by a bad case of 50mm GAS. 😉

No it doesn't, it's unique to the Zorki 5. They made the RF components very close to the shutter mechanism on the 5 and never fixed it until the 6.

No. It only applies to Zorki-5 cameras. There is disagreement on whether it applies to all of them - as usual the Internet is full of conflicting reports, some say only the early ones are affected, some say it's entirely random, some say it's all of them and that it's only a question of time (as in: it works n times and the n+1st time it breaks). The reason is interference of the metering mechanism (which was new to the Z-5 and apparently fixed on the Z-6 at the latest) with the rewind mechanism. Until you've looked at the mechanism with the top cover open to see what is really going on, I'd be careful.
