Hi there, I purchased an XPan I via eBay.de which I have just received. Its my second one, the first one I sold two years ago.
In the meantime I`ve been using Leica M6 and M8.
Now I´ve got a question, I´m not quite sure, whether it´s working correctly: when trying to overlap the object in the rectangle, it´s not possible; they both differ from eachother a few millimeters vertically. I got used to have completely congruent with my M6 and M8 and can´t remember how it was with my old XPan.
Is there something wrong, if yes, what can I do?
TIA, cheers, Jo

The rangefinder needs to be adjusted. Send it to an experienced RF repair person. If you have some skills in this area there are some instructions online.

Thanks for your answer!
There seem to be other guys with the same problem:

Would you (or someone else) recommend repairing it by my own? I am familiar with fixing Macs, but I´ve never opened a camera?!
There a two screws on the back and one on each side.
Is there sth. else to remove? They talk about the "hotshoe", I am clueless about lifting it up.
Thanks! Cheers! Jo
EDIT: I got to a local specialist yesterday and it will be fixed until 01/11/, hopefully for EUR ~80.– (about $100).
