bought this claimed "shutter not working" Olympus Pen EE-s for around 1 USD, which i thought i could use the parts.
the camera is in good cosmetic condition
i played around a bit, noticed that the red flag is working, which implies the meter is okay.
the lens is shaky and if i hold the lens steady the shutter did work!
i look more carefully inside and found that the four screws that hold the lens to the body are missing.

i do not have exact replacement screws (which should be flat-top, matt black and short) but find some screws which are a bit longer but could still do the job, i didn't bother to paint it black.
it comes back alive again!!

the only (little) trouble is the red flag--if it comes out in low light condition, it just stuck there, but if i turn the aperture ring to flash mode, it goes back down and the camera is useful again, i might lost a frame but i am fine with that.

and well, i have to find another non-working half frame camera for spare parts now.😎

just bought another EES...with slightly different design detail.
i swear i saw the red flag popped up for a second and gone, might be stuck inside.

but it is the vietnam-made leather case i am after.😉

Congratulations! Good save. They are a nice little camera. I had one with stuck shutter blades, and intended to try a repair, but never gor around to it, and ended up passing it on to another owner. My real problem with half-frame is that it takes me forever to shoot 72 frames.
