Ok, only very remotely connected to photography and rangefinders, accept the programms for flash exposure, DoF and of cause the timer I use for developing my films 🙂

So my trusty old Psion 5MX didn't recognize the CF card anymore and I forgot to change the batteries in time so it lost it's operating system :-(

So after a couple of month of mourning and thinking about a keyboardless Windows CE device or a very small subnotebook to replace my brain extension I just googled for the problem with the CF cards and found a hint about a broken microswitch under the CF slot cover. So with the tools I bought for working on Kievs and Zorkis and the confidence/hubris I aquired by working on those, I decided to dismantle the computer.
So I found the problem to be a broken lever on the bottom cover which operates the switch. Luckily I still have my first Psion 5, the one with the peeling paint, which has a broken display cable - note to self, don't even think about throwing anything away - and put the black Psion 5 bottom on the silver Psion 5MX.

Put the card with the OS in, switched it on and YEAH! It's back to life!
Back to the 128MB card where I have my programms on and it's all there, photopal, phoneman, my flash and DoF spreadsheats and my cuba diary.
