Nice write up.
Flip out prongs on the battery charger? Not terribly useful if you don't live in a part of the world that uses different sockets to the US.
The cord + charger arrangement is far more sensible, aren't most manufacturers doing that, or do they do it one way for the US and another way for the rest of the world?

I agree on most points and differ on a few -
"OVF is only good to 80cm because of parallax, the X100 should automatically switch to the EVF when it’s below that"
- I take your point, but I still like OVF with MF below 80 cm - easy to flick the switch ti get EVF.
Re your shots - are they OOC or PP? If OOC can you add the settings? I'm still mucking about to see what looks good; yours look great!

Thanks guys, being a little bit of an Apple fan boy I do have a few extra duck heads laying around, works perfectly! Great tip from the 2 commenters at my blog so far! I kindda felt the battery and charger were an afterthought, I was even able to insert the battery backward, usually the shape of it would prevent you from doing that.
Yes, I love the OVF, that's what I use 95% of the times, but it would be nice if when you focus on something that's too close, the EVF automatically pops up.
The images were lightly processed in Lr3 from RAW files.
