Hello!

Inspired by a few threads started by other photographers showing their excellent shots with various cameras/lenses/films, I wanted to start a thread to simply showcase the photographs and experiences that are a result of the rangefinders I shoot.

My name is Jamie and I am a 19 year old photography student in London, England. At the moment I am simply interested in documenting my life, my friends, and the city around us. To do this I use a Bessa R2a with 35mm F1.2 Nokton, Leica CL with 40mm F2 Summicron and a Konica Hexar AF.

This thread is simply to show photographs taken with these lovely cameras. I'm not posting them for praise, for critique, or for any other reason.

As a photography student I am shooting alot, so I will try and update this thread with new shots weekly at least.

Okay, to start with: Fuji NPH400 on the Konica Hexar Af. Almost all are shot at F2.0:

Please excuse the random lightleak on the shot above.

This was dark, handheld at maybe 1/15th or so ^

This next photo is shot using the Konica's external Flash.

All of these were scanned on the Epson V700.

Will try and answer any questions about cameras etc.

Thanks,
Jamie.

P.s. This RF general forum seemed best suited for this post, but I wasn't entirely sure?

Howdy, nice to see some young blood.
I'm 18 and from the grungy valley of California.
I love shooting RF's and I'm glad to see you do to.

The first two are from my M3 and DR 50/2, and the last is from one of my XA's.

jamie great pics! I saw your blog a while back.. you're well ahead of many of us at age 19. Keep it up! You're gonna do some great work in the future.

HSI: Some nice photos there - indeed, nice to see another youngster!
Ywenz: Thanks for the very kind words.

So the I need to sleep now, but I finally got my first roll shot with my new beast, the Voigtlander 35mm F1.2 Nokton. This lens is seriously amazing. Yes its big for a RF lens, but normal for an SLR, its fairly cheap if you think what it is, and not only is the depth of field and low light possibilities incredible, its also impressively sharp.

I will post the majority of the shots soon but a little sneak preview (both at F1.2!):

Hi Jamie,

These are terrific photos. They have a fine sense of spontaneity and lightness.

Good luck with your course and try to keep that spontaneity in your images.

Keep on posting .

Thanks for the kind words guys, and no I dont plan to stop! I take photos of my friends purely for joy, practice and because of a silly dream that I will be the next centuries Lartigue one day with an entire life documented in photos!

Some more shots, Nokton and 400H this time, most at F1.2, Lightroom may have messed up the sharpness of some of the scans though:

P.s. I promise I do have other friends and things to take photos of - just these rolls were all from the first few days I got the Nokton!

Have been commissioned to shoot part of Howies (www.howies.co.uk) next catalogue this weekend, and besides a nice profit, my payment includes 20 rolls of film and 60 polaroids, so will get a good chance not only to make some awesome photos but also to contiune breaking in the Nokton, this time in a professional environment with professional models!

Thanks for reading,
J.
