1 and 8 are my picks.
Love the subtle muted colours in the #1 and the cheekiness in #8.
What Leica/lens combo were you using for these?

Very nice work; enjoyed seeing your vision of your city. And thanks for explaining the name as I was wondering myself.

I'm sorry but you wrong , man. Saigon and Hochiminh City not the same. Today many brand-name have word "Saigon" , including state-owned companies. And use the name "Saigon" does not mean disrespect Uncle Ho. Uncle Ho is my hero, but I dont want to talk about politics here.
Hochiminh City is the new administrative unit including Saigon (district 1,2,3,4) + Cho Lon (district 5,6,11 aka "China town") + Gia Dinh (district Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh, Thu Duc, Nha Be, Hoc Mon)
Anyway, thanks you for like my photos
Cheersssss,
I love the photos, and enjoyed them all. I was in Vietnam a total of 4 years, with 6 months in Saigon. Stayed at a hotel at Nga Sau. I don't recall its name though. But the photos bring back pleasant memories as I got to travel some around the city as well as other areas in (then) South Vietnam. Thanks for sharing. Hope you share more.
And thanks for your explanation of the difference between Saigon and Hochiminh City. I too had thought they were one and the same.

No problems, man, many Vietnamese young people confused about that , especially teenagers. The name "Saigon" nowadays also become a cultural icon, people in neighboring provinces call "Saigon" for a small part of downtown area , include Notre Dame Cathedral - Nguyen Hue -Le Loi Avenue...
Thanks for comments.
Cheersss.

what?
I am enjoying your photos very much.
The cat on the roof (awning) has to be my personal favorite, as my cat Lexi is sitting right here.
Thanks for the Saigon explanation, I did not know that.

Visiting Ho Chi Minh was a memorable and quite frankly a revealing time. I know some locals and they were gracious to show me around the real city. I was humbled at their openness to the war and their lovely creativity of spirit, culture, hospitality and friendship. Leaving there in a taxi I will always remember hearing a friend singing a lovely traditional song from the seat next to me.

I imagine he do it himself as it it's quite difficult to find a reliable lab here in Saigon. I haven't shoot in the street here for so long. Here's one from a long time ago:

em xin phép nói bằng tiếng Việt do đối tượng là các bạn người Việt.
em rất hoan nghênh các bác cùng góp ảnh về Sài Gòn vào topic của em. nhưng em rất ko vui nếu như các bác khai thác những cảnh chụp người ăn xin người vô gia cư, những cảnh tang tóc khốn khổ , than thuê khóc mướn xin nước mắt khán thính giả....
