my saturday mornings...

i love gear and love talking about it but we need to encourage each other artistically also!
why do we photograph? well, part of it is to get feedback from our peers to help us find a benchmark to which we can measure (or at least get some indication) where we are in our artistic journey!

not one comment…i give up!

Oooh, I missed the original post!

Very nice, both B&W and especially the color. I liked the portraits, but really liked the apples/pears shots in color on page 4. I will enjoy going through these in more depth when I can get to the big monitor.

BTW, looks like quite the affair! We have several in our area, with a year round outdoor one in the city center every Saturday morning. We try to go as much as possible and have fallen in love with the "Wurst Wagen" and their amazing schnitzel. Whenever I walk up, the expat exclaims "Leica!" with a big smile.

I've had a look at some more of your images and the RD1 shots really shine both colour and B&W. It seems that that camera brought something out of you. That's not to say the others aren't good, but there just seems something special about those RD1 images. However, I am biased as an RD1 owner😉

the holden meats man, I can't help but feel if you shot from the other side the lighting would have been much nicer. Some of the musician shots are meh.

However, the man with his hands behind his back, most of the portrait shots, the hanging bag of chillis, and the rear shot of a lady with a hat on are all outstanding. Great compositions, great tones and or colours. very nice.

i agree!
it was the rd1 that bewitched me and made me fall in love with colour! up until the rd1 i was a b&w shooter.

i'll have to look at that one again (meat man)…it's hard to maintain enthusiasm at times with such a long term project…thanks!

I prefer the colour ones. The black and white doesnt work for me. When I think farmers market, I think colour. Everything looks the same. Food is colourful.

No, no. Sorry, but for me the B&W works perfect!
Concentrates on the faces.
Great work.
Have to try myself.
