My second roll of film with the Polaroid Land 250

I will today make a second attempt with my Land 250 camera and the Fuji 100 film. I think that I have uncovered the mystery of why my first roll ended up being vastly underexposed. I went over the comments that were posted in some online discussion on Land 250 giving underexposed images. One person asked " when you pushed down the red shutter release button, did you keep your trigger pushed down until the exposure ended or did you immediately remove your finger?". I may have pushed the shutter release quickly. Wit the Polaroid camera, it makes a huge difference how long you keep your finger pushing down on the shutter release.

As a back-up, if things still come out dark, I will add more light by adjusting the exposure dial +1 or +2. If this still gives me dark images, I will place a transparent tape over the light sensor of the camera. It gives me additional 1-2 stops exposure this way.

I hope that get back to this thread tonight to post about my results! :)

Worst case would be not to ever use my camera and film. It would be a waste of money.

Hi Robert,
I just tried it out without film.
case 1: push the red button and lift your finger. The exposure will be imemediately ended.
case 2: push the red button but keep pushing until the exposure ends.
There is a huge time difference between the two cases.

Yes, the film is now "free" as I have ten packs or so.

I'm just back from a journey in the Alps and a little bit tired, I'll try later with my 340 if there is a similar behavior.

The 250 is automatic. I have no manual control.
I hope that your trip to the Alps was lots of fun!

I took one photo outside our home, setting the camera to standard exposure without any adjustments.

It was after all an error in pressing down the shutter release button and then removing too quickly the pressure. This is how my first roll ended up being too dark. It was not a fault with the light sensor after all.
 
I am glad that it was not a fault in the camera. I paid a good sum for the CLA'd and adapted Land 250, so I was not happy to suspect flaws with a camera bought at a much higher cost than what I could get it at on ebay or a flea market.
 
When pointing the camera away from the sunset and to the East, I used no exposure adjusting with the Land 250, and when shooting against the setting sun, I overexposed by 1-2 stops. All images came out OK. The color balance came out cool from the shade. I posted pairs of images above; the first one is the photo as is, while the second one (treated) was adjusted by me with PS. There is no difficulty at all in using this Polaroid camera. I did not lose any photos due to torn film holder or similar stuff.
 
Interesting dream-like quality to these Raid. Destin (and that area of Florida) is one place I really, really want to visit - striking beach and sea.
