My second roll of film with the Polaroid Land 250

Thank you David. Destin attracts many tourists and also people who want to retire there.
It is about 50 miles away from Pensacola. Lots of shopping malls are in Destin, and some good restaurants. The beaches are award winning beaches too! You often spot dolphins there.

Nobody commented so far on "the black spot in the center of the setting sun". Where/how did this happen? Is this too bright for the light sensor of the Land 250? Aliens on the Sun? What is it?

I did not see such a shadow in the midst of the setting sun, Robert. Could it be something caused by my camera or is it something "special" that I caught on film without realizing it?

I've had that black spot thing happen as well, in my case on headlights of a car. Probably just a FP-100c thing.

Yes, it could be that the film cannot handle a direct hit by very shiny sources.

I now recall that there was a small cloud in front of part of the sun. Maybe it was the cloud?

I think the 250 was the best pack film camera aside from the premium ones. I think I still have one converted for batteries, but I never use it.

Years ago I rebuilt a packfilm camera with a Schneider lens on the front in order to be able to shoot 665. Within a month, 665 was discontinued! That was a bummer. Man that camera was sharp though....

They don't, but I made that camera to shoot 665 which was the positive/negative film. You got both a print (which was slightly overexposed if you did it right) and a negative that you cleared in Sulfite. You could enlarge the negative just like any other negative and it had a beautiful tonality. It was an amazing film. I miss that.

the b&w packfilms were really sharp like a contact print, and the color was not far behind.

Looking at the shots with the sun in frame it looks like the film can't handle it, giving the strange black/blue areas instead of Zone X? Does it destroy that part of the emulsion? Looks like it.

This is a possibility indeed.

The solarization is a well-known effect of the Fuji Instant films. I have a friend who specializes in Polaroid photos using that effect.
