I love this camera

There is something about the simplicity of the Canon P, it's wonderful viewfinder and sleek looks that makes it, in my book, one of the best classic cameras to look at, to hold, and to use. I just put up a link to a blog about my very attractive black (re-painted) one on rangefinder chronicles, mostly featuring the first film I put through this one, for anyone interested: http://rangefinderchronicles.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/my-sexy-black-canon-p.html

As you have well illustrated it is indeed the photographic equivalent of the little black dress...

That black repaint certainly adds some style Nick, and you use the camera well in the blog. I certainly like my standard issue P with my serenars and CV screw mounts.

I agree with practicality of the Canon P. I have a chrome one in addition to a black one and also an olive P.

Hi Helen,
Is there haze seen clearly in your 50/1.8? Just reading about the haze makes me suspect that my own Canon 50/1.8 may have haze in it!
The black Canon P shown in this thread looks very beautiful.

I like my chrome one, but if I ever came across one of these at a decent price, look out checkbook!

I thought about getting a chrome P a few years ago
but decided to stay with my Canon 7s which I like
very much. Maybe someday if I could find a black one.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a chrome P as well. I love them both, but black is best!
Helen, I agree - I have the 35/2 and it is a great lens. I also have the 35.8 LTM which is beautiful and also very tiny. I'm waiting for a 28 f2.8 at the moment.....

Nick: The 28/3.5 seems to be sharper than the 28/2.8.

Hi Raid. I heard that/read that before. I have the 3.5 and it nearly made me miss out on getting the 2.8. But my collecting gene took over and I decided I would like to add it, and use it, anyway. So I shall see....

Collecting is another issue, Nick! Get the lens.
