Multitasking
I was alone in the plane on a paersonal photo flight. In a coordinated maneuver, the felt force remains straight through the bottom of the plane. So a camera sitting on a mini tripod up on the glare shield will just sit there even though everything is leaning way over. Like a turn on a motorcycle. I get it all set up ahead of time, get into the turn and reach up and trip the time delay shutter.
It is a eaiser when you have some one else flying as you can concentrate more on the photography and way less on the plane.
At the time, I was working part time as a Flight instructor. I have been flying since 1990, instructing since 1995 and so far have about 2500 hours of PIC time. I have flown as pilot a couple of times for a TV kids show "Critter Getters". And taken photographers up for money so they could shoot aerials for clients.
Since I am 6 feet tall, I can fit in a 152. Not much to spare. I know several men who can not fit into them though. They can fit in the172 though. I like 172s they just cost more per hour to rent.
