That's a really good shot! I could easily see it in an exhibition with the title "Reaching".

Don't underestimate the interest in film photography (and other old physical medias) around youth circles today. In this highly digitalised world old physical medias provide a nice contrast and that is probably a big part of why film photography and vinyl record interest seems to be increasing quite a lot. I know loads of young adults shooting film and the same with young adults discussing music while trading vinyl records with eachother.

The main hurdle isn't disinterest, it's the anticipation that it's really hard to shoot film and the fact that they got nobody teaching them.

I've seen an increase in interest in film among young people. Sure, a lot of it is Lomography, based on the misapprehension that 'real' photography must be blurry, badly exposed, with poor colours, but it leads on via the inevitable Trip 35 sometimes to something more than a fashion.

Not that there's anything wrong with a Trip, mind you - I've had excellent results from mine!

It was my son who got me back into film, which was really lovely. Here he is with his Rolleicord nearby and two of his traveling photos shot on a Leica CL with Canon lens on the wall behind him.

I confess it was my eldest son, and his gift of a Minolta SRT-101 c/w two lenses, who got me off my arse and taking photos again following a long lull after my RF was stolen.
