My take on the Oly SP (pics)

My Olympus SP came in today and it is a well built camera. As far as size goes it's a little smaller than my GSN but larger than a Canon GII QL17. The shutter release has a "positive" sound, not loud but not as quiet as my QL17. It feels substantial in your hands, maybe a little more square feeling (it's hard to describe) Here are some shots off the first roll, nothing spectacular just checking the meter and of course bokeh.

Great shots! Love the second one.

I'm a long-time fan of Oly 35SP and adore the lens in that camera.

Olympus Sp #3 (who says wildlife photography starts at 400mm, I say it starts at 42mm) Bob White quail.
 
I like your shot of the quail! The bokeh indeed looks evil in the second photo.
 
Man, it's almost look like I'm 2yrs late joining this forum.
I'm waiting for my 35SPn and I am definitely going to use the quail shot (#3) as a comparison. Hopefully mine is not a dud.

Sometimes, I dream of Olympus having built a rangefinder like the SP, but with interchangeable lenses. They were the best in that era for cameras, lenses, all types of cameras, and for all types of photographers, snap shooters to serious photographers.
