Last summer I shared some photos from my yearly trip to Guatemala while studying Chagas disease. I am thinking of trying to put together a book from my three trips worth of photography. Here some of my favorite photos from my latest trip. Any feedback or comments are appreciated. If anyone has an opinion about what might be an effective medium to best share these photos let met know. I think I could present the material in many different ways, but the most likely would be something research related. However, while I am passionate about my research I would like to keep my photography separate as more of an artistic escapade.
Thanks for looking....

P.S. for all the gear geeks. All color was shot with a M6 TTL and 50 DR summicron on Portra 160. Black and White was TMAX400 in a FM2 with a 20 mm f/4.0 AIS. Not that it really matters but like many people I am always interested in the process....
City Shots....
My friend Belter...
Olopa
Meat Market Guatemala City
Antigua
Cathedral Guate City
Mean Muggin Motorcylcer
Old meets New Age Sports...
The famous Chicken Buses...
Political Propaganda...
Market Bokeh
Beans

Thanks for the compliment chris. does anyone know of a means of finding a high quality book printer that will just make a few copies? I would like to make a book for some family, friends, professors, etc.

These online books seem pretty nice to me. I know a pro in my hometown who uses them in his studio for a portfolio.

Fantastic pictures! Film requires some effort nowadays so I appreciate this even more. I guess people have differing opinions about such, but I'm not too keen on image #1. But that's just me. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. I love shooting film... I never want to stop. I love Portra, and realllllly love TMax 400. I can't afford any digital cameras that I really want so... Film it is! Developing is getting expensive though. I do get comfort from actually having a negative though. It feel more archival than a file...
@Snowbuzz, Image #1 is one of those I encounter most cities I have been in the world. I feel like its something we constantly shut off our mind too, so I have made it a point to photograph people sleeping in the street. I see it everywhere, so I document it. I understand if some find it disturbing.
I guess my biggest concern with printing a book is the prints. I've been able to really get my shots to "pop" on screen but never in prints. I don't know if its a color pallet issue, cheap prints, sloppy processing or whatever. I just haven't seemed able to get good prints from scanned negatives. They always come out hazy and dull. So I would be interested in workflow. I even switched to print film because I thought it would be easier to manipulate in modern digital post processing world.... Any advice would be nice.

Very nice work! The first portrait of the elderly lady's face is incredibly expressive. What a face!

My M5s need red dots!
Quite good images... you brought me back home!! I can recognize Antigua, but where is the street with the pharmacy sign?
Keep shooting! You're doing very good work!

I understand your point of view. The picture isn't disturbing to me: many of these folks form part of my patient population (as I work in the Third World). Keep shooting!

I have had a couple of books printed by Blurb. They have different options in quality. I used their highest grade photo paper and was very happy with the results. Book size is limited to 160 pages for their high quality paper. I think standard book paper (still nice) allows books to 400 pages or so.
Their software was easy to use and allows almost unlimited layout options. I hope that helps.

@SciAggie, what do you think the minimum resolution that produces nice images on blurb? I think right now my scans are about 6 mp. They could be better, but if thats enough Ill save the money and not have them scanned again.
