Here are the very first images I've ever taken using a rangefinder camera. It's my M6. The lens is the 35 f/2 Summicron. The film is Fuji Pro 400 H and the roll was given to me by the camera shop when I bought the camera. Enjoy!

Hello Ornate,

Congratulations with your M6, I wish I had one 🙂
The Fuji 400H is a very good film and one of my favorites.
But I think your pics came out a bit soft. Did you scan your pics yourself ?
I think your camera setup + Fuji 400H is producing much sharper pictures without you knowing it.

Here's a Fuji 400H picture taken with my Bessa-T and a Jupiter 8, scanned with a Coolscan 5000.

I didn't scan the images myself. They were scanned by the professional lab that developed the film. I can see where the images may have looked soft. They were scanned as TIF images (I never have my film scanned as jpgs) and I used Nikon Capture NX2 to adjust the size, sharpen and save as low resolution jpgs.

I'll post a few more that I feel better represent the first images taken. I noticed I was limited to only three attachments.

PS The image you posted is quite nice.

Here are a few more which show the first images I have ever taken with a rangefinder using the M6 and 35 f/2 Summicron lens:

I think they are sharper, especially the first image.

Words of wisdom...

Absolutely! So far, I have used the Fuji Pro 400 H, Velvia 50 (the original Velvia), and Ektar 100 (for which I mistakenly shot at 50 because I forgot to change the ISO to 100). In the next few days I'll be shooting Tri-X and Neopan 1600. That's a good start I think! 🙂
