Mysterious Light Leak

I recently bought a used M2 from a reputable dealer. I didn't get the first roll shot and processed until well after the 15-day return period had elapsed. Imagine my dismay when that first roll, and a subsequent one, showed random light leaks. There seems to be no pattern to them except that they occur across almost the full length of the frame and in the middle of the frame.

I'm attaching a shot which exhibits the problem. I'll be sending the body out later today for an inspection and CLA but until then, does anyone have an idea what might be causing this odd light leak?

I had earlier attributed this problem to a flare-y Jupiter 12 but it has now occurred with a new CV 35mm f2.5 Color-Skopar.

First make sure the bottom plate fits securely without any movement then check the seal between the body and the rear door where the door is pinned to the body.

If the light leaks are intermittent and you're changing lenses, I would say you needed a new light shield (badly). This is about the only consistent light leak source on an M camera.

I seriously doubt this has anything whatsoever to do with your baseplate. But your back-cover could also be a source.

I would send the camera to a reputable repair person (such as DAG) along with a photo sample for repair.
