My lens had the little ring with the name, model etc pop off. I think it is likely cosmetic but would like to reattach it. What would be the best adhesive? Loctite 242? Nail polish? Lacquer? Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

I think any kind of glue is good, three very small drops evenly spaced. Clean the spots were you put the glue first with gasoline.

Maybe RTV Silicone seal? AKA clear bathtub caulk. It holds tight, and is also flexible. It should peel off easily enough when there is a need to remove the faceplate. It sets slowly.

I just used G-S Hypo Cement when the trim plate around the lens on my Chinon Bellami came flying off.

Elmers!! Water-based, has some flexibility when dry. Removes from non-porous surfaces while still holding fairly well. I wouldn't use it to glue metal to metal on a surface that gets handling, but for a ring it will work well. Very small dots.
