Name your camera!...

I call my Fed II 'Betty' (as in Betty Blue) The Kiev II has been named 'Olga' and my M2 I call 'Lucky' because it was bought off eBay very impulsively as it was so cheap ... and was discovered to be in near new condition when it arrived! :) None of my other cameras deserve names ... I love Wayne's name for his M5 ... 'Bigfoot' ... wish I'd thought of that! :D

Mike, I'm with you! I hope it doesn't signify a lack of imagination but I just don't name things other than what's inscribed on them already... whether cameras, cars, houses, even boats.

Too funny!

My friend just recently aquired a pentax 6x7 w/ several lenses... but she only had a $5 bill on her, so she gave it to him

Meet Kara:

If Kara ever tires of the Pentax 6x7, tell her that I would gladly double her investment by selling the gear to me.

Just as there's no point to naming a deaf dog, there's no point to naming a camera: if you call it, it won't come. (groan)

You may be right. But explain me why I need shout at my stubborn PC even if he ... it! doesn't answer me!
Well, that being said, I'm sure my Leica knows to talk: "bad framing", "oh come on, it's underexposed, you can't see that", "can you focus, at least!" ...

I do, Nicholas, but then they are people, know their names, and respond to them (when they feel like it)! :D

Computers and cell phones might logically have names and be taught to respond to voice commands addressed to them. And when automated cameras can respond to voice commands like, "Betsy, focus point left, aperture 4!" then it'll surely be time to name them too.
