All she wanted was to get away from the journalists and from being the girl in the picture, and here she is, the girl in the picture 40 years later brought to you by the Huffington Post.

Sounds pretty miserable to me.

Having lived through the Vietnam War era, I can understand the power of the photo as when it came out, it had a huge impact on my already bad view of the war. I have seen too much waste of human lives, starting with that period of time in my life.

But this story, like the CNN special I saw on it some time ago, is a good story. We may not like the overall story of the war and the impact it had on the world, but stories like this where Kim has become not only free, but free to help others. Did anyone follow the link to the Kim Foundation? I tried but the bandwidth has been exceeded....must be a lot of folks linking.

The Kim Foundation International is the beautiful result of her life and experiences. THAT makes the article worthwhile as I have learned not only about her life today but also I have learned of the foundation.😉

What an image and story. I remember the impact of that image. The whole thing is just depressing. It reminds us of all the photographs not captured.
