Nature / Fine Art with M8 & 75mm

I shot all of these with the M8 and Voigtlander 75mm F/2.5. I've worked on this project for over a year now. This combination of camera and lens and specific lighting conditions were the only combo that was giving me exactly the rendition I wanted. It's amazing how awesome the M8 is. I love that camera!

Good that you like your work, it does nothing for me, but that doesnt matter.

I am curious why you chose a rangefinder for this project, which seems like an odd choice to me. Any DSLR would have done the same more accurately, especially at close distance.

Accuracy of the frame lines at minimum focus distance isnt that bad with a 75. No worse than getting used to them any further in my opinion. I chose the rangefinder because one the lens. I can't use this lens on an SLR. I can also be free to actually see what I am shooting, versus seeing the depth of field like an SLR. For me it made a difference, for someone else, maybe not. A big part of it was the lens though. Honestly, there is barely any alteration or post processing to the image color or rendering. The 75 2.5 gives me what I want, in the correct light, every time. Why shoot with a bulky SLR when I can shoot with the Leica. Plus, the Leica is much easier to hold when shooting down at subjects than a heavy SLR.

The M8 and 75mm is a great combination. Even with an M9 and M9-P, I have kept my M8 with a 75mm glued to it.

Its funny, ever since I got a Fuji x100, I have been keeping the 75mm on the M8 all the time. Its sad we don't have proper frame lines, but its a fantastic combo!
