Nazi Zorki/FED - someone will sure overpay!

I was watching that auction. I think it's a nice looking camera (except for the fake engravings). At least they didn't *******ize a nice old Fed/Zorki1. I might be inspired to take a Fed2 down to the brass next time I need to tear one down. I didn't think the top deck was thick enough on the front to grind off the original Fed markings. Must be paper-thin.

only 2 bidders- the person that won the auction (297 feedback) and a noob with no feedback. I am surprised that such an obvious fake brought so much money- you'd think that anyone with 297 feedback would not bid so high on an obvious fake (unless they were shilling, of course).

I cannot imagine that someone ends up spending so much money on a screwed up Fed2... Its not even worth the half of a normal Fed.

I really want to believe these are all shill bids. Surely nobody could be foolish enough to be taken in by this old FED. It doesn't even vaguely look like a Leica.

But if not, I would like to get in contact with 1***1. I have this great old bridge over the East River for sale, and at a good price too!

Cheers,
Dez

THat bidding looks extremely suspicious. Shame you can't email 'winning' bidders about the dodgy items they've bought, thanks to eBay's new policy to 'protect' their users.

Setting aside the fact that it's a FED 2, the best laugh is that it's described as "in good condition". That in itself is belied by the photos!

How did they get the finish to look so BAD?!? Is this what it looks like when someone dips the metal into acid? I feel bad for whatever sucker bought that one.
