Nazi's in America ....

Sorry if some might be offended by these images (and that they weren't taken with a rangefinder), but I wanted to remind people that these hate-mongers still exist in our world and even in America.
They came today to Washington State's capitol building, were surrounded by local peace-activist and shouted down. They were soon surrounded by police in riot gear and 'escorted' out of town.
Remember all, "Freedom, is only kept by eternal vigilance".

Nazi's = Nazis. Or maybe you mean to shorten "nazi is in America".

And yes, they very much still exist. I met a family of them up here in Washington state - in Issaquah. Little kids, mom and dad. Yikes.

How are you feeling, sir? Better, I hope. The meet was good. Smaller group, but lots of conversation and a very large quantity of gear.

I'll take the liberty of going one step further to say nazis don't all wear uniforms (only the immature ones do) Hate is alive and very much in peoples faces every day. It's unacceptable behavior to any member of a civilized society, and like in Washington, should be shouted down (or put down, by any means) whenever it surfaces.

There is a gentleman from the south on this board who has posted some excellent clan pictures. I guess a picture can be worth not only a thousand words, but also a squad of police in riot gear sometimes. Thank you too for documenting those images.

Glad everyone had a good time in Seattle, I'm feeling much better today, though sore.
I plan on putting all of today's NAZI photos on my photo.net page, I'll put the URL here when finished.
 
Actually, they have as much right to demonstrate as anyone else. Shouted down...certainly, that's just the opposing opinion being heard. "...put down , by any means...." I don't think so, not unless you want to become them...indifferent clothing.
One very good and acceptable way of fighting these nasties is by doing as you have done here, to remind us all that they are still out there.

By all means photograph them and post their pictures on the Internet.

When I lived in Germany, my wife-to-be's apartment was on the site of the old Fuerth synogogue, a magnificent building that was burned down in 1938 and so survives only in photographs.

I noticed that some of the peace activist followed the Nazi to their vehicles and wrote down the license plate numbers - LOL.
Did you know you can find out where someone lives by tracing the plate numbers on the web? :angel:
Yep, I figured having the pics of today's activities all over the net would make them "proud". :D
 
BTW - When I lived in So. Cal, there was a card carrying KKK member living next door to me. He looked/acted 'normal' most of the time, but would dress in a grey civil war uniform on Jefferson Davis' birthday and yell, "LONG LIVE THE CONFEDERACY!" while raising the confederate flag.
When he found out some of my relatives were African/American he began racing his truck around my property yelling, "I'll burn you out, you nigger lover!".
My wife finally convinced me to move away, before I killed the SOB.

Thank you for those pictures and the reminder. I was terrible what you went through with your neighbor. I too went through a terrible experience with a nazi at the North Valley Jewish Community Center in Los Angeles. My son had attended day camp there just before it was shot up. I wrote a very long post about it here and on the Canon FD list.

This is a terrible threat to civilization. The problem is worse today than at any time since WWII. Abraham Foxman's recent book "Never Again?" documents the rise of hate groups in the world and modern America. His experience at the Anti-Defamation League and his life history provides a perspective unattainable elsewhere.

I remember that attack in LA, God you must have been grateful he didn't arrive one day earlier. Many people don't want to know that these people still exit and put it down as small groups of crazies and "It won't happen to me" - but what happens when it DOES happen to them because everyone else ignored the problem.
 
My son was on the bus to sleep-over camp at the time. He has never said anything about it. I've asked him questions a couple of times. He has been strangely silent.

He still has is NVJCC backpack from the camp. It is worn and full of holes, but he won't throw it away.

Harold, I too, am grateful for your posting and reminder. Is there something obvious that I don't know about this day, or was it a local only event? IOW- what was their reason for their showing up and demonstrating? Very curious.

Actually, I disagree with part of your assessment.

1) while I maintain they have no right to demonstrate, I will acknowledge that they do in fact get away with it way too often, and that 2) when they are allowed, their right stops at my nose. If they want to toast me in an oven because of their racial superiority, they have NO right to demonstrate. Call me a Nazi for saying so. Better safe then sorry again on my part.

Oliver Wendell Holmes already established one can not yell fire in a theater, and I think it was Potter Stewart who said He doesn't know what porno is, but he's sure he'd know it if he saw it. If people can not see this is pornography oin it's most obscene extreme, it is MY obligation to point it out. And if that means 'any means', so be it.

There are standards of human civilization that we have all, happily, outgrown. Does one have the right to pretend they are a cave man and club a woman over the head? Does a 'leader' have the right to pogram, or gulag dissidents? Do madmen have the right to throw people in the ovens because they are different than the mad men?

So beyond their right to congregate, I maintain that no, they don't have the right to spew trash. And, I am NOT becoming one of them y saying so. Fascism is wrong. Period. Hate is wrong. Period. There is no room for it anywhere, We've established that through 15 million people dying because the masses (and politicians) thought Hitler had a right to be heard. That his position was so absurd no one would follow it.

Frankly, I'm a peace loving guy. The 60's were great. The 70's were terrific (well, except for disco). But MY patience ends there. Violance DOES make sense when dangerous people like this are walking around, and I have no problem getting off my peace and love sofa to do it.

Because, some of my relatives no longer can and are counting on me to make sure that doesn't happen again.

'Nough preaching. Anyone take any good pictures lately?

Yes, they wanted to 'celebrate' Hitler's birthday on April 20, but wanted to surprise the opposition by being early. :bang: They did not obtain a permit, and were quickly hustled away by our great State Police riot squad before any violence occured.
Of course with only 6-8 Nazis vs 50+ opposition forces, it would be very stupid for them to provoke a fight - but then they don't seem like smart fellas, ya think. :D

He was a kid. I don't know if he could not comprehend the violence or if it affected him.

The counselors at the sleep over camp asked the kids to write get well notes to the hospitilized victims. He could/would not write any.
