My experience with NCPS is similar. I 'raced' their 6x6 and 35mm 'Rockwell scans' against my best effort with the V700 and felt that the Epson can just about match their scans with 6x6. Their 35mm is better than what I can do with the V700. They do use the Noritsu scanner, so it obviously isn't a drum-scan.
So, it comes down to cost/convenience. (I've been entirely satisfied with their work. Beautiful positives and I usually get them back 4-5 days after I ship.)
