Is anyone using Fuji's handgrip for their X-e1? What about either a LensMate or Thumbs Up thumb rest? Curious if any of these significantly improve the camera's ergonomics or, with the thumb rests, interfere with control buttons.

i have one for the x-p1 and like it...i have not been able to get one for the x-e1 yet but i plan to.
no plans on getting a thumb rest...i imagine them to poke into my sides as i walk with the camera hanging.

it is true.
the oem grip sits under the entire camera body so when needing to change the battery or remove the sd card the grip must be removed.
it's not that big of a deal...to me, anyway.
i would say that if you like grips normally then it's worth having on the fuji but if you don't generally use them then it's not needed.
the fujis fit nicely in the hand without the grip.
i like grips for comfort in carrying the camera in hand and it's easier to put the camera into a bag and also to retrive it from a bag.

I pretty much hate grips, cases, the Thumbs Up, etc.. I don't find them necessary at all. But, to each their own.

i like them till i don't anymore...i sometimes just don't like the feel of them, take them off the camera and shoot without for awhile but eventually find them useful again and put them back on...maybe i have some sort of split personality...

Here is a picture of the real right stuff grip setup for my x100. They have one for xp1 and either have or will have one for the xe1 as well. The second picture shows the battery and sd card can be accessed with grip on while the fuji cp1 grip that I have will not allow this operation. It is more expensive then the fuji, but I like it better.

These shots taken w/ iPhone.

yeah, that's a big 'ol grip!

Surprisingly as big as it is, it actually really works well and I don't have big hands at all. Compared to the smaller grip from Fuji, it is actually more comfortable for me. Not sure why.

I have the Fuji grip for both my X-Pro1 and XE-1.
The only thing I don't like about them is having to unscrew them to get at the memory card or battery.
This is as stupid as Leica :(
