Need a quick help

I got a jobo unitank 1520, of two reels, but with only one! For invertion, the tank "says" to use 485ml! Since I am going to use one reel may I cut in half the amount of liquid? Use 485/2= 242,5 ml? Or like my patterson tank, use 310 ml for one 35mm film?
Or do I have to use always the 485ml?

Cutting to about 250 ml should be OK with constant agitation but not otherwise. But PM me your address and I'll send you another Jobo reel (assuming it's standard core diameter) in return for a donation to charity (charity and amount your choice, though cancer and 'green' charities preferred).

Put the single reel on the center spindle, put the assembly in the tank, pour water in the tank until the reel is covered. decant the water into a measuring beaker. bingo - this is the amount what you need to use.

Also, check the bottom of the tank, many have the liquid volumes listed

The botton of the tank doe's not have the volume listed. The tank has the volumes for invertion and rotation listed on the side with the number of films that one can develop. Two 35mm, eight 110, one 220 etc.

I use the same tank, and for a single roll I use 300ml of liquid.
Haven't had a problem with this.

Though you might be careful, because there are dilutions where the minimum amount of
developer in the solution can be reached only with more than 300ml.
(for example - HC-110 dilution H)

I see! Well I did the "water to tank until reel is fully cover and then to a measuring beaker" and it gived me 350ml. I did 250ml and it was very close, so possibly I am going with 350.
I going to use rodinal to develop an ilford pan F (ISO 50)!
