So... Basically I'm tired of stuffing my domke in my daypack. I'm looking for a backpack that can hold an M and NEX, both with lenses attached, plus 3 extra lenses, for traveling abroad. I'd like the backpack to have apce for a 13" macbook air, plus water and lunch and a few sundries. Side pouches fro water would be super, but not essential. Two straps is essential–a lot of weight on one shoulder bothers me, and I'll need to take it into the hills. Curious as to what people like... Thanks!

When I travel, I use a two-bag approach: a backpack for transport and a small Thinktank shoulder bag for day to day shooting. I stuff the shulder bag in my checked luggage.

Given the above, nothing beats the Kinesis Journeyman pack and seperate Kineses modular pouches to clip to its internal attachment system. A modular laptop case is avaialble. The Kineses Journeyman pack is big enough that you can also pack clothes in it, but small enough that it is allowed as carry-on luggage for US commercial flights

Man... that's awesome. Pretty close to exactly what I'm looking for. I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with the owner–very helpful and friendly.

Anyway more suggestions are welcome–the first two have been really great.

Wow, you guys are traveling in style! Less is more. I can go for a week or more with my little Jansport book bag. Carries my Thinkpad, my ZI or M6 with a lens, my Kindle, chargers/adapters, couple shirts, underwear, necessary toiletries, hairbrush, a bit of soap and a portable clothsline. Still lots of room for film, water, lunch, whatever.

I am the same as Keith above but my pack is a Kata 2N1 backpack for the flight which holds gear, Macbook Air and acessories and Crumpler 5 Million dollar home for day shooting. Generally with M9 + M6 & 28/50/90 Summicrons.
