I just got a EX+ AE-II from KEH sent to me by a friend in the US. The strange thing is when attached to my ETRSi the view appears fairly blurry, while the plain prism is bright and clear. I can barely make out the focus with the split circle. It's similar to when you have a diopter wrongly adjusted. But afaik the AE-II doesnt have diopter adjustment. It works as it should otherwise, metering is very acccurate.
So what do you guys reckon happened ? It get knocked around too much and something get loose ? Or I need a special focus screen for AE-II ?
Any help would be much appreciated as sending it half-way around the world back to KEH is really my last resort.

Sorry if this is a bit late, but I just came across this thread.
Bronica prisms work like a lot of older SLRs do - diopter adjustment is provided through provision for a single-power-correction eyepiece. The standard correction is -1.5, but it sounds like your AE-II has had the original eyepeice changed out for a different power.
Remove the rubber eyecup and you'll see the screw that allows you to remove the eyepeice. Do the same on your plain prism and swap them over - they're interchangeable.
