Need Assistance - Lightroom File / Catalog Transfer

Hello,

My macbook is quite old so I switched some time ago to using my pc for photo editing. But, I have a lot of photos on my mac that are in lightroom catalogs. Well, actually the photos are on external hard drives and I think the catalogs themselves are on the laptop's internal hard drive.

How can I transfer those photos over to my pc while retaining all the edits I did in lightroom? I hope this is possible.

On the mac, I do this:
- move the catalog, using the Finder or whatever (not using Lightroom)
- put the folder of image files where I want it
- Open the catalog, you'll see image previews with question marks
- All the image folders (left panel in Lightroom Library mode) will have question marks. CTRL-Click on a folder, select the option to locate the folder.

Then all is well.
