Need help choosing photos

hey chenick - are you a Dub? :)

We have some very familiar sights here... I like the taxi and I particularly like the way your lens rendered the OOF area.

My other fave pending new arrivals is gone fishin' and I'm wondering where you took it. I'm guessing Monkstown or somewhere on the south side...

A vote for the cropped version of the taxi, on account of the great 3D effect you got on the car, and my second goes for "Gone Fishin'", in which the colors and the lonely silhouette make a beautiful mood. Besides, these are very contrasting shots, which also say a lot about you as a photographer.

Love the taxi shots. either one is good. fishing is not nearly so interesting to my eye as "london eye".

London Eye has exciting color, interesting graphics and design of the whole piece. It's a nice one to put next to the wonderful taxi piece, plus it's not something you see every day. fishing...we've all seen at one time or another.

disregard previous post - well not all of it. 'london eye' is a good shot but as i think about it, see it, the parliment is probably a much better choice. similar theme: wet street, autos. but very different handling. the two color shots probably compete w. one another.

i'll be quiet now.

Uncropped Taxi - I had to look at both versions over and over to make the decision, but them it was clear that the uncropped worked for me.

Former Parliament - First choice, but the night shot of the Custom house is very strong also.

I like the cropped Taxi, but upon reflection the uncropped one has better balance and gives the Taxi an "aperture" to emerge through. And I also like both the Food Market and Gone Fishin'. All of these have life... :)

I looked again to make sure of my thoughts, I prefer the cropped Taxi. It gives me more of a feeling of being there.

I take it you've been here before Peter.... :)

I know Boston fairly well, I worked in Springfield for a year so was fairly close..

The Gone Fishin was taken at the pier in Dun Laoghaire Harbour - Monkstown is beside Dun L, but is a little bit closer to the city centre, Good guess though.

And the taxi shot and the Former Parliament were taken from the same street, just opposite sides!

Nick,
I lived there for 8 years on the South Circular Road and loved it. My sister lives in Blackrock. I'm from Manchester originally... :)
